I am clinging bitterly to my faith.  I fear it is the only thing that is going to get me through this.  It is not looking good.  What has become of the American people?  Our youth are indoctrinated instead of educated.  Liberal feminists have succeeded in their coup of the education system.  Great!  And we are left with a populace that actually believes in Utopia, regardless of every ounce of evidence against it.  Idiots actually think they won't have to pay for gas in their cars, or their mortgages...Hey, maybe they're right.  But someone will have to pay for it.  Wonder who? 

We have a country of 'men' who dive out windows leaving women behind them while an old man, survivor of Nazi Germany,  holds the door.  Our enemies will be very pleased to know that.   

We have people voting for someone based solely on the color of his skin, with no care for what he stands for or the content of his character.  Martin Luther King must be weeping. 

We have the 'educated' vote going to a Marxist, when socialism HAS. NEVER. WORKED.  NEVER!  Because it is not a workable system.  It is patently unfair.  It will only breed poverty, mediocrity, and immorality, as it does everywhere it is tried. 

I would almost laugh at the ignorant 'intellectuals', especially the idiot college and high school kids, all across this country who swoon over Barack Obama, if not for the fact that they are crapping all over my children's future, too.  Radical leftists now control our once great country.  They have all branches of government.  There will be no oversight, no balance of power.  Our freedoms are going to be attacked.  Way to go, geniuses!  They will start with the 'fairness doctrine'.  So much for debate.  So much for Freedom of Speech...

Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country. 

Well, so much for that attitude.  JFK should be rolling over in his grave.   We the people want the government to take care of our every want and need, (regardless of how impossible that is), and the majority will apparently walk over the mangled bodies of 45,000,000 and counting dead unborn babies to have it.   The United States of America has lost her soul.  God have mercy.

What to do???

So, there was quite a good discussion in my comments on last post, which I didn't even have time to join. >.<   Clearly, there have been things going on at MNFF that I, as one who never entered into the inner sanctum, didn't fully grasp.  I knew there was back biting and serious cattiness on the parts of some people, but not having seen it first hand, I just took it as that, cattiness and yes, I knew it was nasty, but not really knowing MJ but by reputation at the time, it sort of went over my head.  It was inoffice politics that didn't really affect me as a lowly story poster.  Right or wrong, that is the way it has been for me at MNFF.   I have never been an insider.   I didn't even know that anything had happened with Seren.  I on't really know anything about her.  The only time I have ever seen her mentioned has been in praise-filled recs of her writing.  O.o   I did almost leave the boards over something that happened to someone in SPEW, but SPEW is not the whole site and I simply never again entertained the idea of joining that particular organization.  /defense of still being at MNFF]

However, now there are problems that do directly affect me and the other lowly readers/authors on the site.  The political ads are infuriating.  While I know a great many members of the fanfiction community are far more liberal than I, (heck, it doesn't take much), surely even the liberals can see a problem in directing political propaganda at an audience largely consisting of 13-15 year olds.  Yes, there are many adults, but come on!  It's a frickin Harry Potter site!  What happened to writing and discussing and sharing a love for the stories?  *sigh*  Factor in the rumors of how the money from them is being used, and I'm thinking I need to pull my stories. 

:(  I just really love my readers.  What few I have left after all this time.... And it has been over 3 years.  O.O  And the reviews.... *sniffle*  MNFF has been a happy retreat for a long time. :`(

But it isn't really happy now.   I could try to ignore it and just post my stories and interact with my readers, stay away from the forums, which can and have made me want to pull my hair out often enough.  However, I try to respond to a review and I get a fricken political ad flashing in my face.  *&^^%%$*&^%$(*__)+%^%##@!!  It is sucking all the fun out of it.  Maybe I should just post at ff.net and be done with it, but there isn't the same interaction with the readers.  I hate the anonymous replies over there.  It doesn't give the opportunity for any sort of discussion.

I need to look into how to post it on LJ.  Maybe I can have my own MoB website.  Is it very expensive to do something like that?  I wonder if any of my readers know how to code and all that.  I'd want a pretty header.

A little this and a little of that and update on the anti-Christ! Yech!

Okay, so, my hard drive crashed while I was on vacation.  I got home in the evening a week ago and it was dead.  I took it to the Geek Squad at 8:30pm that night.  Nothing...they could salvage nothing.  So, my current chapter of MoB is gone, but I had sent part of it (a large part) to Marauderswolf for a content check, so I still have that since I always save a copy of sent mail.  Yay for small favors!  I lost my pretty pictures I was saving to use in banners.  I lost my PSP program...I lost everything on the blasted computer.   *sigh*

We had ordered a new one prior to leaving on vacation, because the old one was acting up.  We couldn't get it until the following tuesday, and Hubby had to have it before Monday afternoon, so, we went out and bought a laptop.  I'm on it now.  I think I'm starting to get used to typing on it , but I make lots of mistakes.  I don't know quite why, since it has a full keypad and everything, but it feels different.  Anyway, I'm happy because now we have more than one computer and I can take this one and sit in the bathroom with the door locked if I want.  Yay privacy!  Of course, we have to hook up the wireless thingy first.  Also, I have to download software.  >.<  I can't believe as much as we paid, it doesn't have everything on it.  I can't decide if I want to upgrade to Microsoft 2007 over 2003.  I've researched it and some people really hate the new version, but then it seems to have some nice new features.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

I love Michael Phelps!  And not just because he has a body worthy of Michelangelo! ;)  I think the Chinese should be ashamed of themselves, and so should the judges in Gymnastics.  They have screwed Shawn Johnson and the team that came in fourth overall.  Did anyone believe that girl was 16?  And I'm sick of Bob Costas repeating his mantra "there is so much to be impressed with of the Chinese people" as if the Chinese people are so modern and happy and yeah, what a great country!  *gags*  That is such a brutal dictatorship.  I pity the Chinese people.  Did anyone else notice when the Chinese women gymnasts made errors, the look of sheer horror on their faces.  When any of our girls messed up, they looked disappointed, sad, angry with themselves, frustrated....any number of emotions, but the Chinese looked plain scared.  And the coach in the stands...nothing but relief on his face when they did well.  So sad...

Once again, something to make me thankful and proud to live in the greatest country on Earth!  Go USA!

Let's see...Oh, briefly on the anti-Christ, and then I have to go.  Obama supports infantacide.  Should be enough said!  He tried to lie about it, and his campaign admitted today that he lied.  He is one evil bastard!  Not even NARAL opposed the protection of these children, but Obama is more radical in his determination to see as many innocent human beings destroyed than NARAL!  He's also an idiot, plain and simple.  I've never seen anyone talk so much and say nothing....McCain isn't the brightest bulb in the box, but Obama...God, please save us!

I needed that!

I just got two of the nicest reviews I've ever received for my fanfiction (one from FF.net no less. O.O ).   I have gone months >.<  without posting updates to MoB and had very little traffic to the story.  ( I'm choosing to believe due to the lack of updates.)  Suddenly, in the last few days, I've had a little flurry of reviews, out of nowhere, for MoB as well as The Only Thing.  Plus, one of my favorite long lost reviewers has returned.  It has been so very nice.  

Maybe I am meant to finish MoB after all.

I give up!

*SCREAMS*  

I had hoped that would help, but it doesn't really.  :(

So, I have been plotting like mad.  I actually think I've gotten back into MoB for the first time in months.  I have been waiting for this evening for days, expecting to sit my butt down in front of the computer and write, as soon as I got the kids in bed.  Hubby went back to work and was to be gone for 4 days.  Four, count em.  Then, he was only going to be home for 2 and then I'd have 3 more, before we go on vacation.  I figured that would give me lots of time to write and really get back in the groove.  I was quite excited about it really.   Not that I want him gone, but I really need some time to get my rythm with the story back and he's been home A LOT, plus, again, we have vacation coming up.  So I think it is okay for me to have been looking forward to some time to get back into my hobby.  

But NOOO...He just called.  He's coming home and calling in sick.  *SCREAMS again*  

Apparently, I am not meant to finish MoB.

So, the following is a sort of pro-USA (pretty anti-European, to be honest), rather religious post with a politically Conservative bent.  It's my LJ, and I can say what I believe, but I thought anyone who dislikes that sort of thing should be warned.  Don't worry though; I don't mention the anti-Christ, per say! LOL

Frustration

I think I know why I have lost motivation for writing my Harry Potter WIP.  

 
ETA I obviously didn't stay away from the computer, but I did avoid areas that tend to annoy me.  :)  I also figured out how to use the cut feature, thereby saving my friends from having to suffer my rant.  *is considerate*
